GUEST POST

AIDS Alabama Way Station

March 31, 2020

From Caroline Bundy, AIDS Alabama Director of Development

AIDS Alabama is using its grant funding for the construction of the Way Station, an emergency, overnight shelter and transitional living program for Birmingham’s homeless, runaway, and at-risk youth. Currently, there is no such program designed especially for the unique needs of this community of youth in our city.

We are extremely grateful to the Housing Affordability Trust for believing in this project and for being our largest funder to date. The Way Station and its programs will be a game-changer for some of the most vulnerable citizens of our city, as well as being an integral piece of the puzzle of preventing the next generation of homeless adults.
